Vai Rodhi is a watersports community built around passion, friendship, progression, and unforgettable experiences in the Maldives.
THE NAME
Wind and thread
Vai means wind. Rodhi means thread, the line that ties a rider to a kite. Together they name what we are: riders bound to the wind, and to each other.

ވައި ރޮދިވައި · vai · windރޮދި · rodhi · threadA rodhi is one thread. An akuru is one letter.These letters are AK Veli, by Akuru Type.The spirit of rising together above the waves, bound by the resilient threads of unity and driven by the swift power of the wind.

OUR STORY
How Vai Rodhi started
Vai Rodhi was formed in 2019, following a kitesurfing camp on the beach in Vaikaradhoo. What began as a gathering of ocean-minded people sharing a passion for kitesurfing grew into a community united by the sea, wind, and waves. Through shared sessions, equipment, and a love for the ocean, Vai Rodhi became a place where people could connect, learn, and grow together through their passion for ocean sports.

Become part of the Vai Rodhi family
Membership is open to every Maldivian citizen. Apply through the association's office in Vaikaradhoo, or send us a message and we will take it from there.
Members who want to support the work financially can register for a voluntary monthly chandaa of MVR 50. It is optional; members who do not register for chandaa pay nothing.
